Part-Time Nanny | Upper East Side, NYC
Location: UES, 68th & 2nd
Schedule: Tuesday–Thursday, 9:30 AM–7:30 PM
Hours: Approximately 25–30 hours per week
Compensation: $30/hour
Start Date: Early September preferred; open to August for the right candidate

The Position
A warm and thoughtful family on the Upper East Side is seeking an experienced, confident, and collaborative Part-Time Nanny to care for their two daughters, ages 4 and 2.
The family is looking for someone who genuinely enjoys engaging with young children, is comfortable managing two different ages and schedules, and can confidently take ownership of the girls' day while working collaboratively with the parents.
Both children are in school or activities for portions of the day, allowing time for the nanny to get organized, handle child-related laundry and tidying, prepare meals, and help set the household up for a smooth afternoon and evening.

The family has two daughters, ages 4 and 2.
The older daughter attends school on the Upper East Side, approximately a 15-minute walk from the family's home. Depending on the day, school dismissal is generally between 2:30–3:15 PM, and she also attends activities such as ballet.
The younger daughter will generally begin her day with the nanny around 9:30 AM. On one morning, the nanny may meet Mom and the younger daughter at a class before taking over for the remainder of the day.
She typically naps around 12:30/1:00 PM for approximately 1.5–2 hours.
The girls enjoy playground outings, classes, imaginative play, arts and crafts, and getting out around the neighborhood. The family maintains a screen-free household, with screens generally reserved for times when the children are home sick.

The nanny's primary responsibility will always be the girls and their day-to-day care.
Responsibilities will include:
Providing warm, attentive, and developmentally appropriate care for both children
Confidently managing two young children and their different schedules
School pickups and transportation to nearby activities
Taking the girls to the playground, classes, and neighborhood outings
Planning engaging, age-appropriate activities and creative projects
Preparing breakfast, snacks, and lunch as needed
Preparing or helping with dinner for both girls
Supporting the younger child's nap routine
Assisting with the girls' evening and bedtime routine, typically beginning between 6:15 PM and 6:45 PM
Children's laundry
Keeping the playroom and children's spaces organized
Resetting toys, art supplies, and activity areas after use
Light tidying related to the children, including vacuuming after meals or messy activities
Cleaning the kitchen after meals
Getting organized and preparing for the children's day during quieter periods

Tuesday and Wednesday are particularly busy days for the family, so they would especially appreciate someone who can understand the rhythm of the household, anticipate what needs to be done, and confidently keep the day moving.

Compensation: $30/hour
Paid Vacation: 2 weeks based on the nanny's regular three-day workweek (6 paid working days total), with one week selected by the nanny and one week selected by the family.
Paid Sick Leave: 5 days
The family is thoughtful about planned time off and appreciates open, advance communication surrounding vacation and travel.
