A warm and welcoming family in Wayland, MA is seeking a nurturing, dependable, and engaging After-School Nanny / Family Assistant for their 10-year-old daughter. The family is looking for someone who can become a consistent and trusted presence in their daughter's life and ideally remain with them long-term.
The heart of this position is making sure their daughter feels connected, supported, and genuinely cared for each afternoon. Responsibilities will include school pickup, transportation to nearby extracurricular activities, homework support, preparing snacks, spending quality time together, and helping make sure the basics are organized and ready for the following school day.
She currently has extracurricular activities on Mondays from approximately 4:00–6:00 PM and Wednesdays from 2:00–4:15 PM, all conveniently located within a short drive of the family's home. The family would love someone who can confidently manage her schedule while still making the afternoons feel relaxed, positive, and fun.
As time allows, the family would also appreciate help with a few light family-assistant tasks, such as laundry and occasionally preparing a simple family meal. These are intended to be supportive, manageable tasks that help the household run smoothly rather than the primary focus of the position.
The right person will strike a wonderful balance between being nurturing and attentive while also encouraging age-appropriate independence. Someone warm, patient, organized, flexible, and genuinely interested in building a lasting relationship with their daughter would be an excellent fit.
Candidates must be CPR certified and non-smokers. A reliable vehicle and clean driving record are also required, as school pickup and transportation to activities are an important part of the role. Candidates should be up to date on vaccinations and comfortable facilitating playdates.
The family typically travels during school vacation weeks, and relatives generally assist on individual school closure days. Any additional coverage opportunities will be discussed and offered in advance when possible.
This is a wonderful opportunity for someone seeking a consistent, long-term position with a kind family who truly values having a caring and dependable person in their daughter's life. The family hopes to find someone who will become a trusted part of her everyday routine and enjoy growing alongside her for years to come.
All interested candidates should submit their resume to amanda@heirloomagency.co.
All candidates will be subject to a comprehensive background check and professional reference checks as part of The Heirloom Agency's screening process.
